Dr Karen Maxfield-Lunkin
Dr. Karen Maxfield-Lunkin, Award-winning #WriteRemedyCoach, Best-selling visionary author, and educational entrepreneur. With more than 25 years as a teacher, school principal, professor, educational advocate, and parent-coach, Dr. Karen has helped transform many lives through her work. She is also the founder of BridgeUcation Creative Consulting Group, advocating for creative collaboration through writing; the Women Writing2Heal International Retreats and theWrite2Heal: Creative, Critical Self-Reflection Writing Model to inspire women (and men) to write their stories. Dr. Karen resides in Austin, Texas with her husband Michael of 31 years, and is an adjunct professor at a Texas university.
Dr. Karen hosts workshops, retreats, online courses and YouTube demonstrations for writing. She coaches a clientele of writers which range from the most reluctant of writers to seasoned authors who simply need her push. Dr. Karen’s current initiative is the Write2Heal: The African Roots Project Ghana Retreat. During this fantastic journey, participants are led through a healing process that is like no other. Dr. Karen’s mission is to “help women uncover to discover to recover their God-given gifts and talents buried deep within them”. As a thought leader and innovator, Dr. Karen’s aspiration of becoming a writing therapist through this project has come into fruition. She believes the process of writing allows our thoughts and feelings to become visible, so that we may acknowledge them. The cathartic effect of seeing such words form on paper initiates that transformation. Dr. Karen and Mike have three adult children and two insanely cute rescue dogs
Working from the premise of healing through critical self-reflection, Dr. Karen’s clients can peel back the layers needed through writing. Dr. Karen is heart centered around women of color over the age of 50 who are ready to step into their entrepreneurial endeavors. When Dr. Karen is not out helping transform lives through writing, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, sing, and making her famous best cheesecakes in the world.
